An intraocular lens (IOL) is an artificial lens implanted in your eye during cataract surgery to replace the clouded natural lens. Some IOLs include blue-light filtering properties. Research has associated blue-light filtering IOLs with slower macular atrophy progression in certain patients, though they have not been shown to reduce the occurrence of wet AMD.
