Revitalizing Cosmetic Procedures

Dr. R. Jeffrey Hofmann is our fellowship-trained oculoplastic surgeon and an ASOPRS fellow since 1987, bringing more than 30 years of experience to cosmetic and reconstructive work around the eyes and face. As Clinical Associate Professor of Surgery (Ophthalmology) at Brown University's Warren Alpert Medical School, he addresses concerns including puffiness, bags, and circles around the eyes, drooping brows, fine lines, and wrinkles. For periocular procedures, ASOPRS fellowship is the highest credential a surgeon can hold, ranking above general ophthalmology, plastic surgery, dermatology, and med spa providers.

Many patients first come to Dr. Hofmann for a functional concern such as a drooping lid affecting vision, chronic tearing, or eyelid malposition, and discover during consultation that cosmetic refinements can be addressed within the same care plan. That dual expertise, medically necessary reconstruction and elective rejuvenation by the same surgeon, lets patients move between insurance-covered and elective work without changing providers.

Cosmetic and aesthetic services are available at our East Providence location at 1525 Wampanoag Trail, Suite 105.

Surgical & Non-Surgical Options

As an ophthalmic plastic surgeon, Dr. Hofmann brings a precision to the tissues around the eyes that general plastic surgeons cannot match. His Botox practice predates FDA cosmetic approval (2002) by more than a decade, beginning with medical use for blepharospasm and supported by his own peer-reviewed research on botulinum toxin (1987 and 2000). From non-surgical Botox and dermal fillers to upper and lower blepharoplasty, brow lift, fat injections, and facial liposuction, each plan is built around your facial anatomy and goals.

Our Cosmetic Treatments

Eyelid surgery blepharoplasty for rejuvenated eyes

Eyelid Surgery

Upper blepharoplasty hides incisions in the natural eyelid crease to tighten skin, contour fat, and recreate a defined crease. Lower blepharoplasty can be performed beneath the lashes or transconjunctivally with no skin incision, contouring and repositioning fat to address bags and dark circles. Browpexy, lower lid tendon tightening, and cheek fat pad lift can be added when indicated.
Dermal filler injection for volume restoration

Dermal Fillers

Hyaluronic acid fillers like Restylane and Juvederm smooth lines and folds, define lips, fill hollow under-eye areas, and refine the jawline without skin testing, with results that last roughly six months for Juvederm and six to nine months for Restylane. For longer-lasting volume Dr. Hofmann also offers fat injections using your own tissue, along with facial liposuction for contouring.
Brow lift procedure for upper face rejuvenation

Brow Lift

A brow lift elevates drooping brows that contribute to a tired or heavy-looking upper face. Dr. Hofmann often combines this procedure with upper blepharoplasty or Botox for coordinated rejuvenation of the brows, lids, and forehead in a single plan.
Ptosis repair surgery to correct drooping upper eyelid

Ptosis Repair

Ptosis repair tightens the muscle that lifts the upper eyelid, restoring lid position when drooping blocks vision or creates a constantly tired look. Dr. Hofmann's fellowship training and published work cover both congenital and acquired cases, including pediatric patients, and the procedure is typically insurance-covered when it affects your visual field.
Tear duct surgery DCR to relieve chronic tearing

Tear Duct Surgery

Dacryocystorhinostomy (DCR) relieves chronic tearing caused by blocked tear ducts in adults, while pediatric tear duct obstruction is treated through Dr. Hofmann's affiliation with Hasbro Children's Hospital. Both approaches restore normal tear drainage and resolve the discomfort of persistent watery eyes.
