Clinical Focus
Dr. Gupta provides full medical and surgical retina care at the Rhode Island Eye Institute, covering both routine retinal disease management and the most complex surgical cases. His procedural range spans the full breadth of vitreoretinal medicine and surgery, including pars plana vitrectomy, scleral buckle, membrane peel, laser retinopexy, pneumatic retinopexy, focal and panretinal laser, and intravitreal injections of anti-VEGF agents, corticosteroid implants, and complement inhibitors. As the practice's lead surgical retina specialist, he is the go-to provider for retinal detachments, diabetic retinopathy with surgical complications, advanced macular disease, and other cases that require in-house vitreoretinal surgery, allowing patients to receive academic-center caliber care without leaving Rhode Island.
I'm deeply passionate about restoring and preserving vision for my patients through the latest advances in retinal care. Every day, I'm motivated by the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people's lives by helping them see clearly and maintain their independence.
