Pranjal Thakuria, M.D., is a fellowship-trained retina specialist who brings rare dual subspecialty expertise in both uveitis and medical retina to his practice. He earned his undergraduate degree in Biology from Yale University before receiving his medical degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Thakuria completed his internship in medicine at MetroHealth Medical Center (a Case Western Reserve affiliate) and his ophthalmology residency at Summa Health System in Akron, Ohio, where he was honored as Chief Resident. He then completed consecutive fellowships in uveitis at the Massachusetts Eye Research and Surgery Institution in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and in medical retina at the Duke University Eye Center in Durham, North Carolina.

He is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and has published numerous articles on uveitis and retinal diseases, contributing meaningfully to the medical literature in both subspecialties. Recognized for his exceptional patient-centered approach, he has received the Outstanding Patient Experience Award in 2023, 2024, and 2025, three consecutive years, reflecting the trust and confidence his patients place in his care. He is an active member of both the American Society of Retina Specialists (ASRS) and the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO).
