A native of Rhode Island, Dr. Raufi is an ophthalmologist who specializes in cataract, refractive and laser surgery. Dr. Raufi completed his medical degree at Albany Medical College and his residency training at Duke University. He also received sub-specialty training at the University of Colorado in Denver.
Taking an active interest in the refractive outcomes of his patients, Dr. Raufi has spearheaded various research publications assessing outcomes after refractive corneal and cataract surgeries. He has presented his work at several national conferences and has remained an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons.
While his primary practice focus will be on cataract and corneal refractive surgery, he also has training in treating corneal diseases requiring endothelial keratoplasty. In cataract surgery, he has extensive experience with various lenses (multi-focal, toric, monofocal) and laser-assisted cataract surgery (LenSx). In refractive surgery, he performs LASIK and PRK using both wavefront-optimized and wavefront-guided treatments.
Dr. Raufi joins the group as of August 2, 2021 and will be practicing at our Providence and Fall River locations. He is accepting new patients and welcomes referrals.
