I started wearing glasses as a child and loved that optometrists could improve people’s vision with glasses and contacts. Years later when I was an optometric technician in college, I learned about the medical side of optometry. People say that “the eye is the window to the soul” but really the eye is the window to the body. There’s lots of conditions (eg diabetes, hypertension, thyroid dysfunction, etc) that can present with ocular findings. I’m passionate about helping patients in any way that I can—be it monitoring their systemic conditions to just updating their glasses and contacts. In my spare time for fun, I hike in the summer and cross-country ski in the winter in NH.
